El Tony Crew Clash 2025 – JatzPark Davos

From 1 to 5 April 2025, the legendary JatzPark on the Jakobshorn in Davos became the stage for a new chapter in freestyle sports: the El Tony Crew Clash. Five hand-picked professional crews - led by well-known El Tony Mate athletes - had three days to realise their vision of a perfect snowpark edit. Snowboard and freeski action, creative setups and pure team vibes. Curious to see what they came up with?

Planning and realisation

A new contest format in Davos Klosters

The starting signal was given in September 2024: Flo Würgler (Marketing Director) from El Tony Mate introduced us to a completely new contest format - not a classic competition, but a team video project with creative freedom. It quickly became clear that this event had to be held in Davos Klosters!
Thanks to the ideal infrastructure - the JatzPark on the Jakobshorn, the Mountain Hotels and the support of our crew - the Crew Clash 2025 found a perfect home. Also on board: the experienced event agency Distillery, known for the Swatch Nines. The snow park was redesigned together with our head shaper Martin Stänz: Special obstacles, a 4.5 metre high wallride with El Tony branding and a completely reshaped park - the best conditions for progression and creativity. Away from the park, too, everything was perfect: catering by the Jatzhütte, stylish accommodation at the Hotel National and, to top it all off, the Chalet Bello as the location for the official screening & afterparty.

El Tony Crib

The Hotel National as a Basecamp

For one week, the traditional Hotel National Davos was transformed into the creative base camp for the Crew Clash freestyle event. Under the motto El Tony Crib, the lobby was transformed into a stylish chill-out zone - with a DJ set-up, lounge corner, table football, table tennis and El Tony Crew Clash branding. This is where the international freestyle community met to network, exchange ideas and relax - right in the heart of Davos Klosters.

The hotel was also a real culinary highlight: ElTony's kitchen team rented the hotel's own Bistro National and spoilt the athletes with a varied dinner menu of the highest standard. And of course, the hotel's legendary breakfast buffet was not to be missed - the perfect refreshment before a day full of action on the mountains of Davos Klosters Mountains.

Arrival & kick-off

Crew Clash kicks off in Davos

The freestyle athletes arrived individually in Davos on Tuesday afternoon - many of them were already there, as the freestyle world championships had taken place in St. Moritz the previous week. There was already a relaxed, motivating atmosphere in the hotel lobby. The first joint crew dinner began at 7 pm, before the official riders' meeting began at 8.30 pm. There, all participants were officially welcomed and received the final information about the Crew Clash Video Contest. Highlight of the evening: each crew received exclusive, colour-branded Crew Clash jackets, which were drawn by the team captains in a creative game. There were also cool goodies - from caps and bags to bandanas. After the official part, the crews exchanged their video ideas - the creative flow was awakened.

Freestyle in the JatzPark on the Jakobshorn

On Wednesday morning, we headed up to the Jakobshorn in the JatzPark. The athletes were amazed by the impressive crew clash wallride and the perfectly shaped park. We would like to take this opportunity to praise our shaper crew - they redesigned the park especially for the event and created plenty of space for creative lines.

A cosy chill-out zone with deckchairs, a sound system, parasols and a large selection of El Tony Mate was also created right next to the valley station of the JatzPark lift - a perfect place for athletes and visitors alike to relax. From Wednesday to Friday evening, the participants had time to produce their own video edit. Shape tools and small obstacles such as El Tony Mate oil drums were available for them to creatively integrate into their clips. The vibe in the park was relaxed throughout. Everyone filmed together, chilled out and pushed each other to come up with new tricks - without any of the usual contest pressure. Instead of competition, the focus was on having fun - and socialising with friends. The crowning glory of the first day was a sunset session. The park lift ran until 17:00 before the athletes were safely escorted down into the valley by the rescue service.

Public Day

The community was invited on Saturday - and they turned up in large numbers. At the Public Day in JatzPark, kids, locals and ski clubs were able to shred with the pros, collect autographs and get valuable tips. In the afternoon, the youngsters showed what they can do. Tricks were shown in several freestyle sessions, with goodies and drinks awaiting El Tony. The jury? The pros themselves - just like the locals.

Videoscreening & Afterparty

Final goosebump moments at Chalet Bello

On Saturday evening, the Chalet Bello hosted the big video screening. The atmosphere: exuberant and electrifying. The atmosphere: exuberant and electrifying. Each crew presented their video - from stylish to humorous, from technical to creative. A real firework display of freestyle diversity.

Audience favourite & best film

After all the videos had been shown, there was a vote for the audience's favourite using a live smartphone poll. A short time later, it was clear that Elio Fumagalli's crew had taken home the audience award worth CHF 2,000. This was followed by the athletes' vote for the best film, where Elio's crew also won the main prize for the best film entry worth CHF 10,000. After Elio's crew had been extensively celebrated by the people at Chalet Bello for their double victory, the MVP of the Crew Clash was chosen. Mia Langride from Great Britain and Tatsu Xamagishi from Japan each won CHF 2,000 in prize money in the women's and men's categories respectively.

After the screening, the wild after-party took place at Chalet Bello until 1 a.m. and then the celebrations continued into the early hours of the morning at the Bolgenschanze.
